New President and CEO of Educause elected |

The EDUCAUSE Board of Directors has announced that Diana G. Oblinger,
vice-president of EDUCAUSE, will become president and CEO of the
association effective January 1, 2008. Oblinger succeeds Brian L. Hawkins,
who has led EDUCAUSE since it was formed in 1998. EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit
association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the
intelligent use of information technology.

and the French-speaking Community, and with the financial support of the
European Social Fund, Belgium has launched a new eLearning portal to
facilitate distance learning. Learn-on-Line offers a comprehensive list of
over 200 online training courses in French-speaking Belgium as well as a
portfolio of resources aimed at private individuals, business enterprises,
and bodies specialized in training.

research group Integrated Digital Language Learning (IDILL) recently held
a two-day workshop called "Optimizing the Role of Language in
Technology-Enhanced Learning" at the University of Louvain (Belgium). The
workshop, which brought together a wide range of people involved in
Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL), also led to a road map for
future research and collaboration, thereby helping to further integrate
