Success for Brightwave at Learning Technologies Awards
London (UK), December 2016 - Caroline Freeman, Director of Design at global learning and performance agency Brightwave Group, celebrated success at Learning Technologies Awards ceremony in the Learning Designer of the Year category. Nearly 800 guests gathered at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London for the newly rebranded awards gala to recognise the best in digital learning technologies and solutions.
After a closely fought contest, Caroline came away with the Silver award in a packed field for this highly competitive category.
Caroline is part of an influential new breed of learning designer, schooled in new media production, bringing boldly original perspectives to the field, and changing what digital learning means.
Equal parts teacher, storyteller, film producer, and games master, Caroline has led an industry shift: bringing ideas from outside to redefine expectations of how digital learning looks and feels; how it changes organisational behaviour; and how it improves people, performance, and profitability.
Six years ago, Caroline arrived well equipped for a challenging career in digital learning, with 25 years’ experience managing high-end projects in interactive media and broadcast TV for clients as diverse and creative as Disney, Channel Four, and Microsoft.
Devising new solutions for leading brands taught Caroline to focus on innovation and impact. She knew outstanding digital learning initiatives need fresh perspectives, unique features, and challenging thinking to deliver real change.
Above all, Caroline's work focuses on brand and cultural values and their tangible effect on the thoughts, feelings, and behaviour of people both inside and outside the client organisation.
This experience and insight developed into a reliable methodology for delivering exceptional learning solutions for clients, who rate her on average 9.9/10.0 for learning design.
In response to the award, Caroline said, "I'm so pleased to have been able to take part in the award process. Everyone knows that our work is a truly collaborative process, so thanks must go to all the amazing people I've worked with, both the Brightwave team and our clients, who made this award possible. I have spent the last year leading Brightwave's outstanding learning-design team, and this win represents a ringing endorsement of the innovation, creativity, and impact that our solutions deliver for our clients on a regular basis. I look forward to building on this reputation and taking the team to the next level in 2017."
Jonathan Archibald, Brightwave Group MD, said, "Having worked alongside Caroline for some years now, everyone at Brightwave and I am incredibly proud to see her work recognised by the Learning Technology Awards. Our brand reputation rests on the quality, excellence, and effectiveness of our learning designs, and Caroline has been instrumental in making our solutions really work for our clients, while also pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the field.
Her imagination, fresh thinking, and instinct for understanding and communicating our clients' learning needs allow us to provide a level of quality and innovation that is second to none in the industry. It's long-deserved that her part in this should be acknowledged."
