Gomo Deepens Its Commitment to Accessibility
Brighton (UK), November 2023 - The accessibility of Gomo-created, outward-facing learning content has been evaluated in a new Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) audit. The resultant report found that Gomo's features conform to a wide array of success criteria, allowing users to understand the areas Gomo supports. This process has highlighted the platform's many accessibility successes and given a clear sense of direction for Gomo's onward commitment to providing technology that's accessible to every learner.
Gomo, a cloud-based eLearning platform known for its combination of advanced features and straightforward execution, has released the results of its 2023 VPAT® audit. Covering the key guidelines that Gomo complies with in terms of eLearning accessibility, the report is a practical resource for organizations looking to ensure that all their learners can engage with Gomo-created content.
The VPAT® report describes how a number of Gomo's features lend themselves to accessible practices. For example, Gomo's visual themes allow authors to select accessible colors and contrasts. At the same time, its device-agnostic responsiveness meets the criteria for orientation by ensuring that users can access content in tablet, mobile, and desktop formats.
Gomo's VPAT® report was evaluated against the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 standard. Among the applicable success criteria documented in the VPAT report, Gomo was found to support or partially support every Level A criterion and all but one of the report's stricter Level AA criteria.
Simon Waldram, Product Manager at Gomo, said, "The results of the VPAT audit demonstrate that Gomo is capable of producing truly fantastic, high-quality content that's compliant with WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
"Of course, like any other web application, there's always more to do. Achieving a high standard of accessibility is a continuous exercise, and the auditing process has shown exactly where to focus our ongoing improvements to Gomo's capabilities. This is a commitment we take very seriously, which is why we've released the results with full transparency. By making the audit publicly available, we're ensuring that every Gomo customer can see where the platform shines when it comes to creating content that counts for every learner."
