LPI-˜s Annual Learning Survey Is Open
Coventry (UK), March 2015 - The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) has launched its Annual Learning Survey - a comprehensive research piece into the most significant trends in workplace learning and development.
Shaped by LPI members and backed by hundreds of LPI accredited organisations, the Annual Learning Survey is a comprehensive investigation into the most significant trends happening in workplace learning and development. The research will build a picture of the current workplace-learning landscape and assess its likely directions for 2015 and beyond.
The LPI will look at how L&D professionals are using learning media such as eLearning, live online learning, social media, e-labs and webinars, and how budgets are being allocated, as well as issues involving skills, resources, and knowledge.
This year’s research will look to build on the success of last year, where over 300 L&D professionals completed the Learning Survey 2014.
Commenting on the results and providing insight into the longer-term trends, Learning & Performance Institute Chairman, Donald H. Taylor, said, "When we first carried out the survey in 2010, it was a reasonable assumption that most of an organisation’s formal learning activity was channelled through, and co-ordinated by, the training department. This can no longer be taken for granted. Instead, the explosion of powerful online technologies and the near ubiquity of internet access mean that increasingly L&D is no longer the main provider of workplace-learning experiences. One important long-term trend is clear: the reduced role of the classroom. Another – the rise of alternative approaches to L&D – will likely be felt in our surveys for the next five years at least."
Colin Steed, CEO, Learning & Performance Institute, added, "The annual research carried out by the LPI is a unique and impartial data store to capture, measure, and benchmark the rate of change and interpret what this means for a training, L&D, or HR professional."
The closing date for submissions is 5pm on 20 May 2015.
