Pearson VUE to Launch New Computer-based ISEB Exam

London (UK), March 2009 - Pearson VUE will be the first testing company to offer the new Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing for the British Computer Society (BCS).

Pearson VUE has signed a contract with the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) for global delivery of LPI's certification exams. LPI certification exams are available globally through the Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centre network of over 5,000 sites in 165 countries throughout the world.

The Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) program was established to help IT professionals using the Linux operating system and its associated tools gain recognition for their product expertise. The multi-level program was designed to be vendor neutral and follows the Linux Standard Base and other relevant standards and conventions. The LPIC is recognized as an industry standard of excellence worldwide.

"The growth of LPI's program mirrors the growth of the Linux operating system and its tools," says Robert Whelan, president and chief executive officer of Pearson VUE. "LPI is well positioned to continue their market leadership, and we are pleased they have recognized our hard work with this contract renewal."
