Independent Learning with Social-Learning Components
Karlsruhe (GER), January 2014 - On 05 February 2014 at the LEARNTEC Congress, Martin Greff of the Academy of German Cooperatives will present the path from social learning to methodology model 2.0. As part of a comprehensive advancement process, the training providers within the cooperative financial group have established guiding principles for the sustainable development of their training programs. The focus is on the consistent expansion of online learning phases through components of social learning.
As part of methodology model 2.0, learners are reinforced in acquiring knowledge independently, and this will be augmented with components of social learning. What share of this new learning blend will the individual components make up?
Martin Greff: The proportion of Web 2.0 methodologies will be approximately 25 percent.
According to which criteria have the individual 2.0 elements been selected?
Martin Greff: The Web 2.0 elements have been selected on the basis of whether they support the learning process. For example, in all our concepts, webinars have been used as virtual kick-offs and as discussion periods between the self-learning and classroom phases. In addition, blogs are used, for example, as learning diaries in which the tasks relevant to the certificate are done and then evaluated and commented on by the tutor.
Through a voting function, the participants in our project-management training can, for example, have their project designs evaluated by the other participants. The primary idea behind -‹-‹our concept is that through the assignment of tasks, the participants will learn to deal with the learning resources, and hence acquire knowledge and skills that they can apply better in practice.
How will participants be prepared for and familiarized with this?
Martin Greff: In any blended-learning concept, there is a virtual kick-off in the form of webinar in which the participants are introduced to the functionalities of the platform and the Web 2.0 tools.
What special benefit does the use of 2.0 elements promise?
Martin Greff: Through the use of our concept, we hope to achieve better transfer of the knowledge acquired into practice - and that attendance times are reduced.
Martin Greff will speak on 05 February 2014 at 03:45 pm at the LEARNTEC Congress in the Conference Exhibition Center on "Social Learning - The Next Step to Methodology Model 2.0."
