Affordable Path to Section 508-Compliant eLearning

Warrenville, IL (USA), July 2009 - CourseAvenue, a provider of accessible eLearning, has announced a new program that makes developing Section 508- compliant eLearning content affordable and efficient.

The Accessibility Player Trade-up program for Articulate® Users enables companies to utilize CourseAvenue's PowerPoint import utility and Accessibility Player to quickly turn presentations into standard Flash-based, SCORM-compliant eLearning. This limited-time program gives Articulate users credit towards CourseAvenue's technology and services.

Often, Section 508-compliant eLearning involves failing section 508 compliance tests, exporting content to countless lines of HTML, and then spending countless hours hand coding compliance into a course. Many companies have learned the hard way that achieving compliance by providing an alternative for those with accessibility needs means creating an entirely new version of the course, and not using the primary eLearning development tool at all.

"We believe that meeting Section 508 compliance by providing 'alternative courses' should be the exception and not the rule", states Joe Gorup, CEO of CourseAvenue. "We developed the Accessibility Player so that an entire learner population will benefit from one version of the course."

CourseAvenue offers a wide range of services, from complete course creation to bulk remediation of legacy, noncompliant content. The Accessibility Player Trade-up program for Articulate will be offered for a limited time.
