Alaska Railroad Corporation Collaborates with Learn.com
Sunrise, FL (USA), October 2008 - Learn.com®, a provider of workforce development and productivity solutions, has announced that the Alaska Railroad Corporation, a full-service railroad serving ports and communities from the Gulf of Alaska to Fairbanks, has selected the LearnCenter® platform to automate blended learning.
"Alaska Railroad is establishing instructor-led training for its management and supervisors and on-demand, self-paced training for its remaining staff that needs to be easily and quickly distributed. Our employees need to complete orientation as well as compliance training, including harassment and safety courses. Many of the courses are ongoing and need to be repeated every two years", said Paula Donson, Ph.D., Director of Workforce and Organizational Development at Alaska Railroad Corporation.
"We researched the solutions offered by other providers and decided that the LearnCenter platform not only offered the features we wanted from an LMS, but would also be easy to use. The LearnCenter platform will allow employees who are working around the state to access training courses that they would not be able to access otherwise."
"Our management team can now organize important information and knowledge for our employees. To improve the onboarding of new employees, we will be codifying this information and knowledge and creating our own custom courses or learning objects that can be posted online in the form of courses that new employees can take", added Donson.
The Learn.com LearnCenter platform has been voted America's favorite Learning Management System. Organizations of all sizes can now manage the entire pre-hire- to-retire employee lifecycle by creating a cost-effective, high-quality training, development, and measurement environment designed to empower users with visibility into and control of their career planning while providing management with real-time business intelligence.
