CM Luminosity Announces "Lightshow"
Bristol (UK), June 2010 - CM Luminosity has developed a software training application built on Microsoft Silverlight. The tool is a low-cost add-on to the Luminosity software that enables authors to create Silverlight-based software simulations and demonstrations.
It is available exclusively to Luminosity customers and forms an integrated add-on to the Luminosity collaborative eLearning software. The tool - called "Lightshow" - uses screen-capture technology to allow authors to capture the key steps in any software training, linking them together with animated mouse movements and instructions steps.
A rolling narrative can be added either during the screen capture phase or afterwards, and the author has full control over effects such as hot-spot sizing, various highlighting methods, timings, graphic insertions, etc. One of the key benefits is that once created, the same training asset can be output either as a rolling demo or an interactive simulation.
Alex Mackman, Technical Director of CM Luminosity says, "The beauty of Lightshow is its ease and speed of use. It supplements the broader range of eLearning that Luminosity produces and is perfect for generating the software- training elements of wider eLearning courseware. Luminosity also supports a range of other technology formats, but Silverlight definitely has the edge in terms of user experience."
