Release of Instructor-Led Training Module
Dublin (IR), May 2014 - LearnUpon has announced the release of its new instructor-led training (ILT) module, allowing customers to schedule and manage classroom-based training events.
Complementing LearnUpon’s online course functionality, customers can now easily combine both online and classroom-based training events to create a true blended-learning experience within minutes. The new functionality supports the setting up of multiple event locations, scheduling single and multi-session events, setting the capacity of the event, marking attendance, printing class rosters, and much more.
Commenting on the announcement, LearnUpon CEO Brendan Noud said, "We are extremely excited to add support for classroom-based training events to LearnUpon. This new functionality will be very useful for the professional training companies who use LearnUpon to deliver their eLearning courses. Those who also offer classroom-based training courses can now manage this side of their business through LearnUpon, allowing their customers to register and pay for these events through their LearnUpon store. For our corporate customers who use LearnUpon to deliver online training courses to their employees, the release of our ILT functionality is going to be very beneficial, allowing them to also manage any classroom-based training through our easy-to-use cloud-based LMS. It will give department managers and senior execs a single overview of the skills and competencies available within their organization."
LearnUpon’s new ILT functionality is designed to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the application-rich feature set. Learners can be manually enrolled in sessions by administrators or their managers, they can be asked to choose a session to attend, or can browse the catalog and self-register for any upcoming events of interest. The new functionality also includes full support for international time zones and iCalendars so that learners can quickly add events they have registered for to their calendar.
Noud added, "When we launched LearnUpon, we had a goal to take the complexity out of delivering online courses to learners, and as shown by our rapid growth over the last two years, we are well on our way to achieving this goal, with new customers choosing LearnUpon as their LMS every day of the week. With our new ILT functionality, we had a similar goal: simplifying the overly complex way traditional learning management systems go about managing classroom-based training events. Our streamlined approach will allow our customers to easily schedule and manage classroom-based training events in minutes through our simple, intuitive workflows. As we continue to release exciting new features to LearnUpon every week, we see our new ILT functionality as a major step in LearnUpon becoming the world’s leading cloud-based LMS."
