Respecting Choices® Chooses Meridian LMS

Chantilly, VA (USA), June 2007 - Meridian Knowledge Solutions LLC has announced that their Learning Management System has been selected by the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation, Inc. to be the technological backbone of Respecting Choices®, the Foundation's advance care planning program, to support program participants on a worldwide basis.

Realizing that all aspects of end-of-life care need to be thoroughly and systematically addressed, Respecting Choices® has developed a systems approach that includes community engagement, professional education, and organization standards of practice.

Elizabeth Harris, a Meridian founder, said, "We are excited with the opportunity to support Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation in this worthy initiative." The hosted Meridian Knowledge Centre LMS will deliver quality online professional development to the desktop and manage the certifications of advance care planning instructors worldwide. It will also foster communication and collaboration and provide a marketing and eCommerce engine to sell content to health systems and individual healthcare professionals.

Meridian was selected over seven other LMS vendors after a very rigorous and competitive solicitation process. Roy Haythorn, Meridian's Vice President of Sales Operations, said, "Partnering with Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation enhances Meridian's already-strong presence in the healthcare industry and externally facing e-commerce initiatives. Increasingly, healthcare organizations are selling and certifying their specialties to other healthcare organizations and professionals. Meridian is the perfect partner to support and enhance this growing trend".

Internationally recognized in advance care planning and bereavement, Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation - an independent, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization - is the parent organization of Respecting Choices®. Its mission is to enhance and support quality health care with an emphasis on medical education, health/wellness education, clinically-based research, and community health outreach.
