SXSWedu and EdTechXEurope Partnership
London (UK), March 2016 - EdTechXEurope, one of Europe's leading education-technology-focused conference platforms, has extended its partnership with SXSWedu®, an energetic and innovative American education-sector event, for the third consecutive year. The collaboration will see the newly rebranded EdTechXEurope summit providing European expertise and showcasing European EdTech All Stars companies during the Industry Hub programme track as part of SXSWedu in Austin, Texas. Reciprocally, SXSWedu Executive Producer Ron Reed and a selection of US education influencers will attend the EdTechXEurope London.
With the support of partners such as SXSWedu, EdTechXGlobal will invite 2000+ thought leaders to EdTechXEurope in London 15–16 June 2016 and the EdTechXAsia summit and expo in Singapore 08–09 November 2016. The launch of the 2016 EdTechXEurope and EdTechXAsia event series, along with the plans to partner with SXSWedu for a third year, demonstrates the importance of bridging the gap between markets and driving innovation within the global EdTech ecosystem.
This year, EdTechXGlobal will bring an international perspective to SXSWedu‘s new Industry Hub programme, which focuses on the conversations at the intersection of education and business. EdTechXGlobal co-founders, Charles McIntyre and Benjamin Vedrenne-Cloquet, will offer an industry talk entitled "Five Transformation Trends in Education and 3 European EdTech All Stars Disrupting Learning". This thirty-minute session will showcase European EdTech trends and investment opportunities, in addition to case studies of innovation highlighting the European EdTech All Stars delegation joining EdTechXGlobal at SXSWedu.
EdTechXGlobal organisers will also host the Global EdTech Business Meet Up, which will be an hour-long afternoon mixer event offering exclusive industry perspectives directly from CEOs and founders of three successful European start-ups. The afternoon mixer will include networking opportunities with European startups: augmented reality app Blippar from the United Kingdom, social learning network Brainly from Poland, and the video-based, cognitive language learning platform Papagei from Germany.
Similarly, SXSWedu’s Startup Showcase, a networking event that spotlights education startups, will highlight another innovative European EdTech startup joining EdTechXGlobal in Austin: myBlee, an interactive iPad math app from France. The networking reception will provide participants with the opportunity to connect one on one with attendees, demo their products, and receive valuable, real-time feedback in a fun and casual atmosphere.
EdTechXGlobal’s Industry Hub Exhibition Space will also allow delegates to meet the European EdTech All Stars, as well as EdTechXGlobal organisers throughout the three-day Industry Hub programme.
Benjamin Vedrenne-Cloquet, co-founder of EdtechXGlobal said, "This long-standing strategic partnership between SXSWedu and EdTechXGlobal is underpinned by a shared vision: connecting the makers, innovators, and leaders of the education industry globally and amplifying the positive impact of technology on education and learning. We are delighted to contribute our international perspective at their event, and we look forward to welcoming the SXSWedu community to ours."
Ron Reed, Executive Producer of SXSWedu, added:,"It is with great pleasure that we continue our collaboration with EdTechXEurope. This dynamic partnership enables us to showcase the benefits of international dialog and collaboration to the entire EdTech ecosystem. Through our continued affiliation, SXSWedu and EdTechXEurope look forward to delivering valuable insights from a wide range of great European and U.S. industry leaders to enrich EdTech business, partnership, and investment opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic."
