2011 EFMD Case Writing Competition
Brussels (BE), July 2011 - For the last thirty years, the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has been organising its yearly Case Writing Competition. Each winner of the fourteen categories receives a € 2,000 award. Submission deadline is 17 September 2011.
The aim of this competition is to encourage the writing of case material involving European companies and institutions. Of course material dealing with topics concerning other geographical areas such as Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, which are generally underrepresented among the available sources, is also very welcome.
This year schools and organisations have generously sponsored fourteen categories. The 2011 EFMD Case Writing Competition features two new categories:
- Latin American Business Cases: Sponsored by Universidad Externado de Colombia, CO
- MENA Business Cases: Sponsored by HEC Paris in Qatar, QA
The EFMD Case Writing Competition is further proud to announce its partnership with the European Case Clearinghouse (ecch) in introducing the "Best of the Best" category.
Winning cases receive € 2,000, wide visibility across the EFMD network, and publication by ecch. The year 2010 saw winners from INSEAD, IMD, IE Business School, CEIBS, Tsinghua University, MIT Sloan School of Management, IBS Center for Management Research, ENPC School of International Management, INCAE Business School, and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Applicants can apply individually or as a team. They must represent a school or an institution - independent applicants cannot submit a case. Applicants may enter the category of their choice except the one for which their institution is the sponsor.
Recipients of awards should be prepared to make a short presentation of their case at the Case Prize Awarding Ceremony at the EFMD Annual Conference to be held in June 2012. Every case entered must be submitted via the EFMD website. Please note that paper submissions will not be accepted. Any reference in the texts to authors or their institutions must be removed.
