eLBa Contest: Didactic Diversity
Rostock (GER), January 2010 - Proposals are invited for the eLearning Baltics (eLBa) contest 'Didactic Diversity'. This year's contest topic is "Why do ships float?" A didactic concept employing eLearning methods will be presented and discussed with a jury and audience during eLBa 2010 on 01-02 July.
In learning groups, there are diverse qualifications regarding the body of knowledge to be acquired and the learning competence required. The contexts in which learning takes place, that is, material and personnel resources or the legal and organisational frame, are different as well. All of these are arguments for a concept based on didactic diversity. Karl-Heinz Flechsig explained, "One who fosters didactic diversity will ultimately, in one way or another, create a favourable constellation for each learner."
In preparation for the workshop at the conference, work groups develop didactic models, representing different didactic possibilities. At the workshop, the team will give a fifteen- minute presentation and discussion of the results. After the last presentation, a final discussion and awards ceremony takes place.
Topic 2010: Why do ships float?
When dumping a small stone into water, it immediately sinks to the bottom. But heavy ships of thousands of tons float and carry loads across the oceans. Why and how does it work?
The eLearning sequences submitted have to provide information, explanations, hints, facts, history, instructions, etc., around the question of how ships float. The concrete focus of the content can vary with the chosen target group and didactic method.
Registration for the contest is now open!
