Enhancing Learning, Teaching, and Student Success
Ormskirk (UK), May 2012 - A two-day event on 13-14 June 2012 will incorporate both the SOLSTICE & CLTR conferences with a combined focus on the enhancement of student learning through evidence-informed practices.
The event offers delegates over 45 sessions, 4 keynote speakers, student awards, and a presentation from the Students' Union President of Edge Hill University. Speakers are coming to Ormskirk from Australia, Brazil, and the USA to discuss how their work enhances learning, teaching, and student success.
On day one, the SOLSTICE 2012 eLearning Conference concentrates on technology-enhanced learning practices. The Conference builds on the SOLSTICE Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning's previous conferences that have run over the last six years.
On the second day, the Centre for Learning & Teaching Research (CLTR 2012) Conference will focus on innovation and development in higher education learning and teaching practice, which has been at the heart of the CLTR's mission for the last ten years.
One of the keynotes will be held by Steve Wheeler, Associate Professor of Learning Technologies at Plymouth University. Entitled "Digital Pedagogy: The Future Is Open", it focuses on the growing body of openly available user-generated content generated through the use of personal technologies and social media across all sectors of education and training.
