Great build-up to eLearning Africa
Berlin (GER)/Dakar (SN), May 2009 - Taking place from May 27th - 29th in Dakar, the eLearning Africa conference is THE event in the field of ICT-supported learning and training! Over one thousand registered participants and speakers are looking forward to this year's conference.
"eLearning Africa" will showcase numerous highlights, including the launch ceremony of the World Wide Web Consortium's first office in West Africa, featuring the charismatic and inspiring Tim Berners-Lee, the founder of the internet. A range of high-quality pre-conference workshops kicks off the event, before Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade officially opens the largest pan-African conference on learning & technology.
Follow live surgical procedures in a workshop on the emerging theme of telemedicine, explore traditional African stories in the context of ICT4D and learn how to improve the evaluation of eLearning processes. Find out all about these and many more interesting seminars and check out the agenda.
The two-day conference on Thursday and Friday promises to be highly interactive with fascinating sessions on a wide variety of topics such as accessibility, the problems of e-waste, the future of mobile learning and the debate around Open Educational Resources in Africa. A range of challenging keynote speeches from presenters, such as Aissatou Sow of Digital Links and Nancy Hafkin of Knowledge Working, will offer insights into developments in learning and technology in Africa.
Finally, do not miss out on The eLearning Africa Debate on Friday afternoon, which will provide delegates with an opportunity to have their say during a lively discussion on a topic of vital importance for the future of education on the African continent. Keynote speakers with opposing points of view on the role of technology will argue their case and a vote will be taken. So make yourself heard and join the eagerly anticipated eLearning Africa debate.
The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition with more than 50 organisations showcasing their products and services.
