Managing and Developing Competence within Organisations
Stuttgart (GER), October 2008 - "Professional Training Facts - Learning - Competence - Performance" takes place on the 11th and 12th of November 2008 at the Fraunhofer IAO in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a conference series that focuses on the continuous internal development of competence within organisations and prioritises the transfer of knowledge into practice.
It is becoming more and more important for organisations to manage competences internally, and continuous competence development for employees and managers is a key factor for excellent organizational performance. For the permanent development of the asset "competence" in organizations, professional training and qualification measures have to be adapted to organizational and personal needs.
Since 2005, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (Fraunhofer IAO) has designed and organized the annual autumn meeting "Professional Training Facts" in Stuttgart. The conference series gives priority to methods and technologies, presenting solutions to concrete problems.
Professional Training Facts offers an international platform for the exchange of experience about current trends in professional training for organizations, intermediary organizations, and the application-oriented research community. To provide rapid access for the conference participants, numerous interaction-oriented opportunities among participants and speakers form a fundamental part of the conference.
Conference topics include Competence Assessment, Performance and Learning in Industry, and Intellectual Capital Management. The Conference Chair is Prof. Dieter Spath of Fraunhofer Institute IAO.
The main conference language is English, with several additional tracks in German.
