Record Numbers at Learning Technologies 2010
London (UK), January 2010 - The forthcoming co-located Learning Technologies and Learning and Skills exhibitions have attracted a record number of exhibitors, with 200 learning providers set to exhibit in London on 27 and 28 January. For the first time, Learning Technologies is being co-located with a brand new event for learning professionals, Learning and Skills 2010.
The two-event combination is designed to help complete the learning and development picture, delivering a compelling new showcase for the entire spectrum of learning methods, products, and services helping to drive workplace learning and employee development. It will put visitors in touch with 200 leading suppliers and over 100 free seminars.
Programme highlights include Steve Wheeler of the University of Plymouth, who will look at the effects of new smart devices on organisational learning and development. Smart phones are now proving themselves for learning, but what happens next with smart devices?
In the next few years, individual's interactions with the world, and how they learn in it, may be transformed as existing technologies such as GPS, cameras, light-weight projection, and barcode scanning can be combined with new software to extraordinary effect.
A further highlight is Jane Hart of the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies, speaking about the effects of technology-supported social learning on organisational learning and development. From outsider status, social learning has come to the centre of a great deal of learning activity - from content creation to performance support.
With the key concern of the quality of learning increasingly being answered by robust processes, it's now time to take a step back and consider the big question of what impact all this will have on corporate learning and development.
Mark Penton, event organiser, commenting on the unprecedented level of interest from the market in January's event says, "This is Learning Technologies' eleventh year, and it continues to get stronger and stronger. We are delighted that so many of the industry's leading players are supporting the two exhibitions, and with over 4,000 learning professionals already pre-registered to attend, we're looking forward to putting on a great event."
