Special Track at the ICL Conference 2012
Villach (AT), March 2012 - A "Young Academics ELearning Research" (YAER 2012) special track will take place at the "International Conference on Interactive Computer Aided Learning" (ICL) in Villach, Austria, 26-28 September.
For the interdisciplinary YEAR 2012, the Austrian Association for New Media (Forum Neue Medien Austria) invites contributions on -œELearning research done by young researchers- to foster the exchange of innovative approaches and research results.
eLearning, technology-enhanced learning, and research about the use of new media in higher education are among the Association's key areas of interest. The executive committee will bring together related work in the field, and the conference track will offer an opportunity for the exchange of research results.
Convinced that young people need a chance for presenting their work to a broader community, students and young researchers are invited to submit research results of their master theses, PhD work, and similar projects.
Contributions can focus on, but are not limited to, the topics below. The full list is posted online, and only contributions based on students' works will be accepted.
- evaluation studies of various eLearning settings
- empirical studies for usage of new media in higher education
- social media in eLearning
- digital natives and learning
- open educational resources (OER)
Important dates
Submission of extended abstracts (two pages): 23 April 2012
Notification of acceptance: 28 May 2012
Camera-ready paper submission (eight pages): 31 August
The interdisciplinary ICL focuses on the exchange of relevant trends and research results, as well as the presentation of practical experience gained while developing and testing elements of interactive collaborative learning. Therefore, pilot projects, applications, and products are also welcome.
