Students Continue to Seek High-Quality Academic Orientation
Berlin (GER), May 2015 - The clearest takeaway from studyworld 2015 is that students at both the high school and university levels still demonstrate a major need for orientation in planning for their future education. The gathering's two highly effective days enabled the 8,318 attendees to acquire information about bachelor's and master's programmes in Germany and abroad, as well as facts regarding international internships and semesters abroad.
There was particular demand for an overview of topics such as the selection of majors and courses, career planning, financing and ways to study abroad in general. Once again this year, exhibitors from around the world came to Berlin: 156 education providers and higher education institutions from 27 countries were represented.
The range of information available was extensive. Apart from individual colleges and universities, designates from scholarship organisations, embassies, internship agencies, and volunteer organisations were also in attendance. Furthermore, visitors had the opportunity to have their English skills evaluated, to get their CVs checked, to take a test related to the choice of majors, and to receive personal tips from students with experience abroad.
The programme was rounded off with 59 presentations on topics related to study and careers. Project leader Silke Lieber commented, "There was particular interest in the presentations that offered an overview of, for example, studying abroad, finding internships, and career choices, as well as those dealing with specific subjects like exam stress and college applications in English."
Subsequent to the event, studyworld continues to offer up-to-date information about study and careers via, e.g. Facebook and Twitter, as well as through a comprehensive collection of links on the studyworld website.
The planning for studyworld 2016 is already in progress. The eleventh International Fair for Higher and Continuing Education is scheduled 22 - 23 April 2016.
