Kineo eLearning Helps Tesco Deliver with Totara LMS

Brighton (UK), January 2012 - Kineo eLearning has published a new case study showing how Tesco is delivering learning with Totara LMS. The new learning platform was implemented this summer and is being rolled out in phases to more than 400,000 staff.

Tesco had previously worked with Kineo to deploy a Moodle-based LMS solution and were very interested when Totara LMS, a custom distribution of Moodle designed specifically for corporate enterprises, was released. Tesco already had a shopping list of requirements that were not met by Moodle and were pleased to see most of these included in Totara's extended functionality.

They included

  • programme management
  • management of mandatory learning
  • individual learning plans
  • online course booking and waitlisting
  • team management
  • course feedback
  • sophisticated reporting

Tesco wanted more than just great functionality. Jane Williams from Tesco highlights that a key priority was, "to develop a new learning portal that would deliver a world-class user experience."

Totara LMS has now been rolled out to directors across all countries and to retailing services, and there will be an ongoing rollout across the business over the next twelve months.

In addition to reducing costs significantly - over £1m per annum - Totara has delivered on the promise of ease of use, sophisticated programme management, and an engaging learner experience.

Tesco and Kineo present Totara LMS Case Study at Learning Technologies 2012 on 25 January between 11.00 - 11.30am in Theatre 3, on the Exhibition Floor.
