Join the ePortfolios Australia Conference 2012
Sydney (AU), June 2012 - The ePortfolios Australia Conference 2012 (EAC2012) is a major national professional development event being held in Sydney on 27-28 September 2012. It showcases the use of ePortfolios to support learning at all levels.
EAC2012 brings together national and international ePortfolio professionals to showcase the diversity of ePortfolio practice in Australia and beyond from all levels of education as well as from professional associations and industry areas.
The opening keynote will be held by Gordon Joyes, University of Nottingham, who will speak about -œMeeting the expectation of providing the benefits of e-portfolios for all-.
He provides the following commentary on his keynote. "Conferences like the ePortfolios Australia Conference (EAC2012) usefully explore examples of ePortfolio use for a range of purposes such as quality assurance, professional development, assessment, and widening access. This adds to the extensive body of evidence of the effectiveness of ePortfolio in supporting and enhancing learning. If the benefits are seemingly so well evidenced, we have to ask why it is that their use is not much more widespread. Are ePortfolio meeting expectations?"
"This keynote presentation picks up this theme and presents the most important current issues in regard to ePortfolio use, especially in ensuring students' benefit from their ePortfolio experience. This is an important expectation that we should be striving for as our future goal as an ePortfolio community."
The Conference program further comprises more than fifty breakout sessions, master classes, and facilitated conversations.
