Gold for Best in Competencies and Skill Development
Chennai (IN), October 2012 - Emantras has won a coveted Brandon Hall Gold Award for excellence in the Competencies and Skill Development category. Emantras received the award together with Lufthansa Technical Training for designing and developing an eLearning course. The course was specifically designed to provide self-paced, supplemental learning on helicopter aerodynamics, structures, and systems for apprentices employed at aviation companies.
The entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group Senior Analysts, and Executive Leadership based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation, and overall measureable benefits.
"This year's winner should be very proud of their achievements, especially based on the rigorous judging process all submissions underwent," said Mike Cooke, Chief Executive Officer of Brandon Hall Group, Inc. "We are honored to recognize the award winners, who exemplify a high standard of performance in their organization and demonstrate clear, measurable business results through these innovative programs," he added.
Emantras developed the eLearning course based on a storyboard provided by Lufthansa technical- training subject-matter experts. Building on the subject matter, Emantras used animations and simulations to enhance training and help students test their knowledge.
According to Lufthansa's Head of Product Management (Basic Training), Jens Lange, "Emantras not only grasped the aeronautical content but also understood our specific requirements concerning the learning program. They quickly familiarized themselves with the special topics, so we could jointly develop innovative solutions."
The course resulted in trainees being able to acquire new learning quickly, allowing them to train faster and show greater retention of complex concepts. The interactive exercises made learning more engaging and reinforced memorization of otherwise mundane information.
According to Emantras CEO, Sesh Kumar, "Our teams are always looking for innovative ways to enhance the speed and ease of learning comprehension using technology as an enabler. Winning the 2012 Brandon Award for Best in Competencies and Skill Development is a wonderful acknowledgement of what we have achieved, and an even greater encouragement for us to try and raise the bar even further."
