PebblePad Introduces New Flourish Mentoring
Telford (UK), September 2014 - Over seventy delegates from education and commerce gathered in Birmingham for PebblePad's day-long event "MiniBash '14 - The National Gathering", which offered participants the opportunity to learn about the exciting product developments ahead. Based in Telford's eInnovation Centre, PebblePad's personal-learning technology is already hugely successful in the UK and Australia following initial implementation at the University of Wolverhampton in 2004.
More than half-a-million users from universities and professional organisations now use PebblePad to support their learning, assessment, and professional development. Customers include organisations such as British Swimming, The University of Sydney, The University of Edinburgh, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and the School of Medicine at the University of Liverpool.
PebblePad’s awards include "Company of the Year" from Shropshire Business Awards in 2011 and an IMS Global Impact Award in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton in 2010.
The recent event highlighted the product roadmap for the next two years.
The new "Flourish" product will offer a platform to support the mentoring and supervision of students as well as professionals in practice. Flourish has been designed to hold information on grades, feedback, meetings, and tasks that will help universities in particular streamline mentoring processes and improve progress tracking in order to help students achieve their maximum potential and improve retention.
Enhancements and improvements are also being made to PebblePad’s personal-learning space, Pebble+, and its e-assessment space, ATLAS. The developments, designed to exploit HTML5 capability, will see the platforms offer a richer and seamless user experience with greater support for mobile learning and an app to provide offline working. Delegates welcomed the enhancements with palpable excitement.
"The energy of the PebblePad conferences provides an opportunity for us to recharge our batteries and to enthuse our community with the plans and ideas we have for the future. Judging by this year’s reaction, we’re all buzzing with optimism for what’s to come," commented Shane Sutherland, PebblePad Founder and Development Director.
