Partner to Deliver xAPI and Moodle Project
London (UK), June 2015 - HT2, a learning-technology specialist, has appointed Webanywhere as its partner for the implementation of a new contract with Jisc. Jisc has selected HT2's open-source learning-record store, Learning Locker, as the foundation of a massively scalable open-learning analytics service for the UK education sector.
Jisc is a registered charity that champions the use of digital technologies in UK education and research. The Open Learning Analytics project will bring a standardised and scalable service to UK education providers who are starting out their journeys with learning analytics. HT2 and Webanywhere will work closely with Jisc to ensure that the capabilities of experience API and Learning Locker are effectively embedded into the Open Learning Analytics eco-system.
Conor Gilligan, Webanywhere Head of Workplace, says, "Webanywhere is really excited about partnering with HT2 on the Jisc contract. Jisc are truly innovative in their approach; they are really looking to shake up the FE and HE landscape with the Learning Analytics Project. Given that Webanywhere has previous successes with HT2 as the only official Moodle and Learning Locker Partner, we are confident we can bring the best possible solution to Jisc."
Dr Ben Betts, CEO of HT2, commented, "Jisc shares our passion and belief that learning data should be open, standard, and student centric. The Open Analytics project is a hugely exciting initiative that seeks to provide a one-stop shop for institutions to use their existing infrastructure as the basis for advanced learning analytics. By adopting the xAPI and by using Learning Locker as a foundation of the project, Jisc have given themselves a huge head start in rapidly establishing a basic service that can be built upon for years to come."
