Sponge UK Opens New Nottingham office
Plymouth (UK), January 2018 - Sponge UK, one of Britain’s fastest-growing digital learning companies, has opened a new office in Nottingham after another successful year. The award-winning business, which creates innovative workplace learning solutions for global organisations, officially opened its new office at Merchants Court, Castle Gate, Nottingham, in December 2017.
Since American-born entrepreneur Louise Pasterfield founded the business in 2004, Sponge has grown more than eightfold. In 2017 alone, the company’s turnover increased by nearly sixty percent, creating forty new jobs. Sponge now plans another recruitment drive for the New Year, looking for talented professionals across a range of roles including learning designers and project managers.
"We’ve been really impressed by the vibrant digital economy and wealth of talent in Nottingham and the East Midlands," said founder of Sponge, Louise Pasterfield. "The area has a reputation for digital-learning expertise and provides the perfect location to expand our business. We already have a small sales team based at Castle Gate, and we will be growing our team in Nottingham throughout 2018."
Sponge UK uses creativity to help people at some of the world’s biggest companies learn and grow. Clients include the likes of Coca-Cola, Toyota, adidas, Tesco, GlaxoSmithKline, the NHS, and the United Nations.
The company’s unusual name comes from its belief that when workplace learning is successful, people absorb what they need to know like a sponge.
"More and more companies are looking to us for creative learning solutions that use advanced learning technologies to help people learn and grown," explains Louise Pasterfield. "Forward-thinking organisations want to embrace innovations like virtual reality learning and microlearning to unlock improved performance and increase engagement among their employees. The coming year promises to be an exciting one, as artificial intelligence and machine learning really start to transform the way we learn at work."
