Learner Needs Drive New Release
London (UK), October 2018 - Dedicated to creating content learners actually want and need, the MicroLearn team responded to a variety of requests to create eight brand-new courses, increasing the size of its off-the-shelf catalogue to over 130 titles. These requests included courses entitled Whistleblowing; Right to Work; PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard); Bribery and Corruption; and Insider Trading.
This led the team to create a brand-new finance range, featuring PCI-DSS. It looks at what card thieves are targeting and how compliance with the standard can combat theft, as well as Insider Trading, which explores both the legal and illegal definition of the term and the impact it can have on an organisation, a market, and an economy.
It also includes the new Finance for Non-Financial Managers course, which looks at the basics of organisational accounting, including how to record trading activity on a profit and loss statement; how to adjust figures to reflect the amount of cash generated in the cash flow statement, and how the final numbers will appear on the balance sheet.
Expanding the social and corporate responsibility range, Whistleblowing explores the legal protection offered to those who come forward; Bribery and Corruption looks at the variations in legislation around the world and the impact on international organisations; while Right to Work discusses how to establish an employee's right to work in the UK.
MicroLearn also continued its relationship with the learning architect Liggy Webb, adding Great Conversations to the popular Workplace Wellbeing range, as the course details a variety of techniques for starting conversations in the workplace, as well as how active listening, asking the right questions, and confidence can make you a great conversationalist.
Finally, a new Workplace Bullying course was added to the Equality and Diversity range. Exploring the signs and symptoms of bullying, how incidents can be reported, and the responsibilities of employers in terms of both prevention and prosecution, the course discusses the importance of treating others with respect.
Ali Soper, MicroLearn's Co-Founder and Creative Director said, "The team have outdone themselves again, releasing an impressive selection of in-demand titles and adding to our expanding library. It's incredibly rewarding to see our catalogue grow with the input and support of our learners, adding titles that actually help people to work better, safer, smarter, and more effectively!"
For the next content release, at the end of December, MicroLearn is taking a different approach. As well as releasing new content, the team will revisit the Equality & Diversity range, one of the first suites to be created, in order to overhaul, update, and revamp the content in recognition of legislative changes and client feedback.
