Towards Maturity Announces Departure of CEO and Founder
London (UK), March 2019 - Towards Maturity has announced that CEO Laura Overton has taken the decision to step back, as the business moves to its next phase of growth. After fifteen years leading Towards Maturity on a mission to help learning innovation make a real impact, founder and CEO Laura Overton has taken the decision to step back, having secured its future as part of Emerald, a global provider of research and learning resources.
Laura comments on the next exciting steps for the business she founded, "I step back knowing that our research has made a significant contribution to the global L&D and HR industry, and I would like to personally thank the incredible Towards Maturity team, who have turned my original vision into a reality.
"The last fifteen years would not have been possible without the incredible support of our Ambassadors, who have shared our vision, and the international L&D community, who are committed to the transformation journey. Throughout the journey, I have been continually inspired by those of you who are persistently leading the way with compassion and business savy. Now part of Emerald, an organisation sharing our long-term goals and vision of supporting decisions that make an impact, I leave knowing that our legacy and the next phase of the Towards Maturity journey are in good hands."
Jane Daly, formerly Global Head of L&D at M&S, and with more than twenty years of working on all sides of the learning industry, will be bringing fresh leadership as Towards Maturity’s Chief Insight Officer, heading up the research programme and strategic analyst services. Jane comments, "The business has the right team and infrastructure in place as it looks to an exciting future with a focus on helping learning professionals to apply our data and insights to create real business impact. I’d like to thank Laura for her valuable contribution to the industry over the last fifteen years, and especially to me personally. On behalf of the team, we wish her every success with this next chapter of her own journey."
Laura leaves Towards Maturity, with immediate effect, with Jane and the team continuing to build the business under the overall company leadership of Peter Casebow, CEO of Emerald’s corporate learning division.
