GuyKat Presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise
Birmingham (UK), November 2021 - A Queen's Award is one of the most prestigious honours granted by the Government to businesses in the UK, and on 09 November, GuyKat welcomed Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the West Midlands to their offices at Innovation Birmingham. The visit saw the presentation of the Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
GuyKat CEO, Guy McEvoy said, "It is lovely for the whole team to have our work recognised in this way. Focussing on international opportunities, particularly in North America, has been key. Our growth has helped us bring more quality jobs to Birmingham, and we hope to create even more in years to come. After today's presentation, it's been an honour for me to be invited to a reception at Windsor Castle with HRH Prince Charles. I wish I could bring everyone!"
Between 2019 and 2020, GuyKat doubled revenues, with 70% of sales coming from outside the UK. The number of permanent employees increased from 25 to 40. By focussing on Europe and North America, overseas sales have more than tripled since 2019.
GuyKat's Solutions has been deployed in more than 50 countries across all continents.
The company takes a long-term view by engaging apprentices, graduates, and first job change roles, supported with a training plan. Repeat sales rely on relationships. GuyKat has sponsored specific trade shows in Boston, Toronto, and Atlanta; invested in getting their team over to the United States to meet their clients; and has acquired a sales office in Florida.
