The African Meeting Point

Munich, April 2006 - From 24 - 26 May, 2006, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia will be the focal point of African eLearning attention for the very first time. The conference "eLearning in Africa", organized by ICWE GmbH and Hoffmann & Reif Consultants - both based in Berlin - will present a comprehensive overview of the strategic and technical aspects of eLearning in numerous African countries. The aim is to proffer professional insight into how the Continent is dealing with topics ranging from general development issues to the specifics of the content of educational materials.

At the same time, it will offer a forum for international organisations involved in eLearning to meet and explore mutual business opportunities, establish cooperation agreements, or set up projects with potential partners, buyers, and resellers from Africa and beyond.

The event will also offer a forum for international organisations involved in eLearning to interact with potential partners, buyers, and resellers from Africa and beyond toward the establishment and cultivation of contacts, projects, and business interests.

The first annual congress of its type - succeeding editions will be held in other African cities - is the first step toward a continuous dialogue between African and international partners in the discourse of eLearning topics.

To help inaugurate the event, CHECKpoint eLearning is proud to provide you today with a preview of the principal themes slated for discussion.

Hope to meet you in Addis Ababa,

Thea Payome, editor-in-chief
