Virtual College Launches Three New Health & Safety Courses
Derry (XI), February 2026 - Virtual College has launched three new online health and safety courses covering asbestos awareness, driver safety, and the safe use of abrasive wheels. Developed by subject matter experts and aligned with current legislation, the new courses are designed to help organisations strengthen compliance, reduce workplace risk, and build practical safety competence across high-risk activities.
New Course Titles and Focus Areas
- Asbestos Awareness Training – An intermediate-level course that equips learners with essential knowledge to recognise, manage, and reduce the risks associated with asbestos in the workplace, including identification, exposure risks, and relevant UK legislation.
- Driving for Work – An introductory programme designed to support safer driving behaviours for employees who drive as part of their role, covering journey planning, vehicle safety checks, hazard perception, driver alertness, fatigue management, and incident response. This course is RoSPA Assured and CPD-certified.
- Working Safely with Abrasive Wheels Course – Focused on practical safety knowledge for anyone who uses, supervises, or works near abrasive wheels, this course explains common hazards, safe working practices, and employer/employee responsibilities under relevant regulations including PUWER. The content is RoSPA Assured and CPD-certified.
