LMS CLIX 7

Integration and social learning with CLIX

Birmingham/London, January 2007 - In February the new version 7 of the learning management system CLIX will be released by IMC. A number of new features such as integration to external ERP systems, social learning and analytics will help organisations to improve their training processes. The most important innovation: CLIX is the first learning management system with integration to MS Sharepoint Server technology.

IMC's close cooperation with Microsoft Germany has made it possible to integrate CLIX 7 in MS Sharepoint Server. An appropriate user interface was developed to enable use of CLIX features like course registration, content updates and bookshelf assignments into the portal. Against the background of consistent workflows and business processes, learning management systems are rarely used as stand-alone solutions within organisations.

Hence, it is necessary to provide a flexible framework for the integration of an LMS in an existing IT environment. With IMC's solution "CLIX2MOSS" learners and administrators are now able to access the core functions of CLIX without switching from one application to the other. All information about learning processes is displayed at a central and personalised single spot. Pre-defined sites and web parts provide a homogenous look & feel.

CLIX 7 comes with a powerful business intelligence framework for the analysis, evaluation and controlling of all processes inherent to learning management (administrative, learning, and training activities). Currently IMC is designing and implementing the multidimensional matrixes to perform complex requests. Based on a data warehouse and OLAP-architecture, CLIX Analytics offers highly flexible and customisable access to all the information that learning managers and information workers need to know.

Learning management has always been a subject ruled by two masters: the administrative functions and the functions of learning and teaching. CLIX 7 incorporates improvements in the latter. The CLIX portal used for publishing information and learning offers has been extended with WYSIWYG features. The input and formatting of text elements is now possible and simple. Furthermore, CLIX 7 offers language- and target group-specific RSS feeds for information published in the CLIX portal.
