Fifth International Austrian Moodle Conference
Klagenfurt (AU), July 2008 - Lifelong learning, teaching, and (further) education are central cornerstones of a knowledge-based society that are increasingly electronically supported. The aim of the fifth International Moodle Conference, being held September 18-19, 2008, at the Alpen-Adria University in Klagenfurt, is to present and discuss the potential of electronic learning.
The focus of the conference is the internationally renowned learning management system Moodle, which supports personal and organisational directed learning as well as communication and interaction processes. Topics, methods, content, and technologies that do not make use of Moodle as a platform but are close to the central objective are also welcome.
The conference seeks to enable and inspire a transdisciplinary and cross-cultural knowledge exchange across hierarchical borders, as well as to present an opportunity to bridge gaps in theory and practice.
The aim of the conference is to gather suggestions, develop new ideas, discuss varying opinions, and spur development, while also stimulating social dialogue with other participants and tightening existing contacts to assure continuing interchange. The maxim of Moodle founder Martin Dougiamas: -œThe main value of an online course is not the content, but the human interaction and activities that take place around it!- can be seen as the motto for this conference.
