Global Knowledge Appoints Barry Corless

Wokingham (UK), October 2010 - Global Knowledge, a provider of IT and business-skills training, has announced the appointment of Barry Corless as business-development director for best practice. Barry's new focus lies in strengthening Global Knowledge's existing customer base and building on relationships with its leading technology partners, who include Cisco, Microsoft and VMware.

"It's no secret that consultancy and hands-on experience are vital ingredients to successful learning", explains Allan Pettman, managing director of Global Knowledge. "With the industry suffering from stringent cutbacks and a level of uncertainty, Barry's knowledge and expertise will be crucial to ensuring that our customers and prospects receive the necessary tools and advice to facilitate their learning requirements."

Barry joins Global Knowledge with a wealth of experience in the IT industry, including previous roles in education and consultancy management. As the current Chair of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF), he's focusing on the 2010 conference in Hammersmith, which brings the event to London for the first time in the organisation's twenty-year history. He is also currently the chief examiner for the APM Group in ITIL® version 2 and 3.

"I'm thrilled to be on board a market-leading company such as Global Knowledge", says Barry. "Best practice is an area that companies too often neglect. With the industry facing some uncertain times ahead, more businesses need to follow Global Knowledge's example and focus their efforts on customer retention - providing tailored and competent solutions for the client."
