EDEN Dublin Conference Update
Dublin (IE), April 2011 - EDEN is not only celebrating twenty years of vibrant networking and collaborative researching on ICT-supported learning in Europe but is also hosting a conference. The event, 19 - 22 June 2011 at University College Dublin in Ireland, has been conceived to promote better integration of the concept of responsible and sustainable development in learning.
The response to the call, with over 200 papers submitted from all of Europe and other continents, was outstanding. With the excellent keynotes and the high number of valuable contributions, EDEN is in the makings of a very successful conference on "Learning and Sustainability: The New Ecosystem of Innovation and Knowledge."
Workshops to be presented include:

- Building a Leadership Culture: A Workshop for Emerging Leaders in Online Learning
- Engagement in Science Education: Sustainable ICT Tools for Science Education

- Distance Learning in a Web 2.0 World with Steve Wheeler - Social web tools in authentic teaching and learning contexts for a personalised learning experience
Interactive demonstration sessions present recent software and hardware tools with remarkable solutions.

- Paul Kim, Chief Technology Officer and Assistant Dean of Stanford's School of Education

The Conference dinner on 21 June, with entertainment is being organised in the famous Guiness Storehouse, designed in the shape of a giant pint of Guiness. The evening includes a guided visit at the end of which, on reaching the head of the pint, the Gravity Bar, you can enjoy the unique spectacular view across Dublin.
