Hemel Hempstead (UK)/Montreal, QC (CA), May 2011 - Omniplex, a provider of eLearning solutions, has reported rising levels of demand for its training courses on the use of Articulate rapid authoring tools. Omniplex has further announced the success of the Absorb LMS, employed by the academy of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) to help satisfy road-transport training needs around the world.
Omniplex's managing director, Matthew Lloyd, explains, "Most of the people we see on the Articulate courses are HR or training specialists who are developing their knowledge of the software and its capabilities. They tend to be drawn from a wide cross-section of mainly large to medium-sized organisations."

"One particular benefit is being able to have your laptop open during the course in order to be able to practice the new techniques we're learning straightaway." Based at the International Road Transport Union's (IRU) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the IRU Academy offers a portfolio of training programs to road-transport professionals around the world. To ensure its program materials are available to its members and instructors around the globe instantly, the IRU Academy uses a multilingual content- management system - Absorb, supplied by Omniplex.
Sara Ferris-Childers, who is in charge of IRU Training Projects, explains, "In 2008, we had developed some eLearning materials. We wanted to be able to distribute them, and so it seemed logical to look for an LMS. After an extensive search for the right LMS for us, we decided on Absorb from the Canada-based Blatant Media Corporation - which is supplied throughout Europe by the eLearning solutions provider Omniplex. The LMS, which is hosted by Omniplex, was installed and piloted in the summer of 2009 and was fully in operation by the end of that year."
