Luminosity Rapid eLearning Platform Available per Author
Bristol (UK), May 2011 - Until recently, Luminosity Studio had been provided only as an enterprise-level system for the largest and most demanding leading organizations. Firms that wanted the total security and control a locally installed server can provide installed their own local Luminosity server behind their firewall on their corporate LAN.
Now a new rental model is available for smaller producers. The new annual-rental model is just £895 per author per year with full access to a secure cloud-based server to facilitate full author collaboration and review.
Luminosity's architecture means that a small piece of software is installed on the author's PC. The author can work offline and need not rely on a constant internet connection. When authors next go onto the internet, they can then sync up with the server. This is ideal for authors who do not constantly have high-bandwidth internet access. It also gives a smoother and faster authoring experience when compared with a purely online system and fully supports authors working in a non-collaborative environment.
CM Group's MD Tim Buff says, "I've been a bit stung by criticism recently that our Luminosity rapid eLearning authoring system is only suitable for the very biggest organizations! Perhaps it's because it's been described as a Rolls Royce system with a powerful back-end server that enables all the authors, editors, testers, reviewers, and approvers to collaborate quickly and efficiently with one another to produce high-quality eLearning courseware. Whatever the reason, I've asked our marketing and technical teams here at CM Group to do something about it, and they've come up with what I think is a great solution."
