Bisk Education Achieves LTIv1.1 Certification for its LMS
Tampa, FL (USA), July 2014 - Bisk Education, a worldwide provider of professional education online, has announced that its learning management system (LMS) has officially become Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI)TM v1.1 Certified by the IMS Global Learning Consortium. The Bisk LMS is a unique eLearning platform that is offered exclusively to universities that collaborate with Bisk to facilitate the online delivery of their associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees, as well as professional certificate programs. Now as an LTI Tool Consumer, the Bisk LMS accepts seamless integrations from university LTI tools.
Integration with other LTI-conformant applications and tools eliminates the need for custom programming on the university's part, saving both time and money. It also increases ease of use for students using these tools.
The Bisk LMS is a customizable, fully functioning interactive-learning environment powered through University Alliance, a division of Bisk. The Bisk LMS features collaborative, user-friendly tools that allow students to view video lectures from campus-based professors and industry experts – all accessible on demand, 24/7 from their desktop or mobile device. Students can also consult with classmates and faculty through chat rooms, discussion boards, and live class sessions.
"Achieving LTI Certification allows for a more seamless experience for our university partners, allowing students to benefit from more collaborative tools aligned with the university's pedagogy," states Dr. Peter Lundberg, Chief Information Officer of Bisk Education.
IMS Global Learning Consortium, the certifying body, has approved and published some twenty standards that have been widely used in higher education, K-12 education, and corporate education in regions around the globe.
