Meridian KSI Named "Visionary"

CHANTILLY, VA, October 2005 - Gartner, Inc has positioned Meridian KSI in the Visionary quadrant of its Magic Quadrant report. Meridian KSI was also included in the Visionary quadrant in the research firm's 2005 report on eLearning suite providers. Gartner's Visionary designation recognizes companies for their clear vision of the market's direction and their focus on preparation while encouraging the optimization of delivery.

''Gartner's continued recognition of Meridian as a visionary reflects our rapid growth in the commercial sector,'' said Paul Somerville, Meridian President and CEO. -œOver a hundred companies are in the LMS industry, so to be one of only six firms to be recognized as visionary is a testament to our rapid growth and successful expansion into commercial markets.-

Meridian's inclusion in the quadrant recognizes the Meridian KSI Knowledge Centre™ for its best-of-breed LMS functionality and for the comprehensive suite of learning content management, knowledge management, and competency modeling/management tools that surround the Knowledge Centre's LMS core.

''We have always believed that successful learning management begins with the recognition that knowledge exists in many forms throughout an organization,- Somerville added. Our LMS suite provides the means to identify, capture, and codify these resources into discrete learning objects and easily apply them to various blended learning interventions.''

Criteria for selection include customer satisfaction and support, management, vendor viability, and installed base. The report emphasized the growing importance of LCMS functionality, interoperability of components, and integration of other applications as key factors in the selection process for organizations seeking e-learning suites. The report urged organizations to consider a system's capabilities in the areas of modularity, integration, and personalization.
