Paris (F), July 2018 - An academic from University Paris-Saclay is to play a key role in advising the EU on artificial intelligence (AI). Nozha Boujemaa, director of the Data and AI institute of Université Paris-Saclay (DATAIA), has been nominated to the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI HLG). The group’s objective is to support the implementation of the European strategy on AI.

Sao Paulo (BR) / San Francisco, CA (USA), June 2018 - Udemy, a global marketplace for learning and teaching online, has announced the opening of its Brazilian headquarters in Sao Paulo. Udemy has over 24 million students and more than 35,000 instructors globally. Brazil is the company's fastest-growing market in Latin America, with over 250 Portuguese courses added to the platform each month. To celebrate the new office opening, the company hosted a launch event in Sao Paulo with a keynote presentation by Kevin H. Johnson, CEO of Udemy.

Every teacher knows this, and most take it into account. But in eLearning, which takes place without a teacher, this does not happen.

London (UK), May 2018 - GDPR is the biggest change in data protection legislation for twenty years, coming into effect on 25 May 2018. Despite this, analyst firm Gartner showed that around half of those affected by the legislation - whether in the EU or outside - will not be in full compliance when the regulations take effect. Schools, colleges, and universities across the UK have responded to the GDPR challenge by designing their own sector-specific GDPR for Higher Education training course.
