A Great Variety of MOOCs
Brussels (BE), March 2016 - EMMA is a thirty-month pilot action supported by the European Union. EMMA offers free, open, online courses in multiple languages (e.g. English, Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Estonian, Dutch, French, and Portuguese) from various European universities to help preserve Europe's rich cultural, educational, and linguistic heritage and to promote cross-cultural and multi-lingual learning. Becoming an EMMA student is easy: Once you've registered, find the MOOC that interests you, click on the "enrol" button, and start learning!
The new Philosophy for Children MOOC shows teachers how they can use stories and sketches to introduce philosophy into their classes. Another great new MOOC is Drawing Light and Shadow, in which you can learn how to do architectural drawings of buildings focusing on the theory of shadows and how to represent them.
In this round, EMMA has a variety of MOOCs on educational design: 21 Century Learning, Designing online Courses with the 7Cs framework, Digital library in Principle and Practice, and General and Social Pedagogy: educational practices. Of interest for teachers of Italian is a MOOC on coding in your classroom, which already has 5000 participants, and a MOOC that just started from the same teacher entitled Digital Platforms for Land Management.
