Learning Resources for Bringing Shakespeare to Life
Dublin (IR), April 2014 - MindConnex Learning is expanding its "Shakespeare In Bits" offering by releasing an update of its successful "Shakespeare In Bits Live!" subscription website with additional new learning resources. These will include quizzes, lesson plans, play texts, and more. The newly updated website is HTML5 based and so is truly cross platform, being accessible from all major devices with a web browser and Internet connection.
Responding to feedback from users, the ancillary learning resources are intended to round out the existing subscription offering that delivers the popular Shakespeare In Bits plays online. Initial additions include quizzes, selected lesson plans, and printable texts for the two most popular Shakespeare In Bits titles, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Additional resources will be released for these and other plays over the coming weeks. Quizzes can be generated randomly, drawing questions from a large database, thus guaranteeing a huge variety of tests. While complete access to all materials will be available to Shakespeare In Bits Live! subscribers, a selection will also be freely available to non-paying users.
"The launch of these ancillary materials is an important milestone in the development of Shakespeare In Bits as a core Shakespeare learning solution. They complement the existing play feature set excellently, and the whole offering represents the type of learning resource that we are committed to developing," explains Fergus Connolly, CEO of MindConnex Learning. "The existing Shakespeare In Bits titles allow students to gain an understanding of the nuances and linguistic richness of this great literature that many struggle to decipher from flat text on a page. With these extra resources, teachers will have an even greater array of tools to further engage students and allow them to gauge their knowledge and expand their appreciation. In addition, this comprehensive set of resources is now available from one centralized location, with genuine cross-platform access at very cost-effective rates."
Shakespeare In Bits is a multimedia approach to teaching Shakespeare that fuses animation of the play with full audio soundtrack, original unabridged play text, integrated notes and analyses, as well as an inline translation system that provides modern-day translations for selected words in their original context. In addition, Shakespeare In Bits offers a full cast feature including an illustrated map of all interrelationships in the play and a biography of each cast member. Shakespeare In Bits Live! is the online subscription service of MindConnex's award-winning product.
