The global eLearning provider for the automotive sector
Brussels, May 2006 - As the European umbrella membership organisation for the global Automotive Supply industry, CLEPA and its Training Department have coordinated European projects to evaluate, develop, and offer a sustainable eLearning solution to the Automotive Supply Industry: "Learn4Auto".
The portal aims to become the first global eLearning provider for the automotive sector on a European basis, drawing upon a rich portfolio of localised contents. So all members of CLEPA - it represents 68 of the world's most prominent suppliers for car parts, systems and modules and 22 National trade associations and European sectoral associations representing more than 3,000 companies - should participate in this knowledge base.
A subject area of particular interest for automotive companies is quality management systems and standards. These topics are particularly sensitive, since they entail the use of technical jargon, applicative cases, and examples that need to be properly adapted to fit into national contexts. As a consequence, there is a strong need for localisation, both linguistic and cultural, of eLearning contents dealing with these topics.
Learn4auto has started as a 24-month demonstration project co-funded by the European Commission.
