College Grants New Award for Flexible Learning
London (UK), June 2014 - Learning Nexus Students who perform above and beyond their everyday studies will now be recognised by Forth Valley College with a new Flexible Learning Award. The first recipient of the new award is HNC Business Studies student Carrie Gentles from Tullibody. As well as coping with the demands of full-time study, Carrie has also committed to achieving the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) to enhance her qualifications.
ECDL is a globally recognised information and communication technology (ICT) and digital- literacy qualification consisting of seven separate modules of study. Carrie has been supported through her extra study by the College’s Learning Development service, which has included mentor support and alternative assessment arrangements.
"Carrie has been a pleasure to work with throughout her ECDL course. With her can-do attitude and determination, she now only has one exam to sit to fully achieve this qualification," said Flexible Learning Coordinator, Lisa MacLaren. "ECDL is brilliant additional qualification to have, as it is transferrable across any career that Carrie chooses to pursue in the future."
As well as the award, Carrie will be presented with an iPad Mini, which was kindly donated by eLearning Provider Learning Nexus, a flexible-learning-materials supplier to the College.
