Canadian Grant for International Commercialization
Quebec (CAN), September 2007 - The Canadian Ministries of Labour and Economic Development have announced the award of $126,000 in repayable funding to SVI eSolutions Inc., a Quebec-based software and multimedia company. This assistance will be used to implement a marketing strategy outside Quebec. SVI eSolutions Inc. develops and markets interactive virtual solutions for the distance-training and collaborative-work markets.
The firm's main product is a leading-edge audio-visual telecommunications and multilingual application-sharing software marketed under the name VIA eLearning & eMeeting. This interactive software is a unique and highly user-friendly online training solution equipped with a number of technological innovations. SVI eSolutions has also distinguished itself by virtue of the customized integration, adaptation, and bilingual technical support services it offers.
"Innovativeness, the use of cutting-edge technologies, and the development of distinctive products are some of the conditions of a strong and vibrant economy that Canada's new government is working to put in place, as outlined in our Advantage Canada strategic plan that calls for, among other measures, the injection of $9.2 billion in research and technology over the next year.
By lending our support to this young enterprise, we are helping to strengthen the high-tech information technology and multimedia sector. As well as diversifying the region's economic base, the activities of SVI eSolutions will serve to increase the critical mass of applied-technology SMEs and reinforce this pivotal hub of excellence," stated Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament.
"We are extremely pleased and proud that Canada Economic Development recognizes and supports the marketing potential of our products and services on global French-speaking markets. In an era when our prosperity hinges increasingly on the knowledge economy, we believe that the commercialization of software products, particularly those developed in such targeted niches as online interactive training and tele-collaboration, offer vast opportunities for promoting and spreading our know-how," added SVI eSolutions President Denis Gamache.
"I am convinced that this financial support from Canada Economic Development, combined with the marketing strategy we have developed, will help generate business opportunities and enable us to expand into a growing world market", he concluded. With this project, SVI eSolutions expects to create two new marketing jobs over the course of the next year.
