CLIX in the Driver's Seat at Continental

Saarbruecken (GER), February 2007 - Continental AG, one of the world's leading tyre manufacturers and a major supplier for the automotive sector, has just implemented the learning management system CLIX from IMC, the leading German provider of learning technologies. ContiSmartLearning will mainly deliver product and sales trainings for truck tyres.




The rollout of the learning management system for the marketing and sales of truck tyres was initiated during an international workshop at Continental. ContiSmartLearning provides information about products, technology, and marketing of truck tyres. The platform was developed for an international team of trainers and supports the exchange of knowledge and experience. By giving reasons and building up subject-matter expertise, CLIX helps the sales force to be prepared for daily business.

Based on the leading learning management system CLIX from the German learning technologies company IMC, the platform is designed for a quick, profound, but also entertaining learning experience. Available in eight languages, ContiSmartLearning is customised to the challenges of the sales and marketing teams that have been derived from customers' needs in Europe and worldwide. In ten topics, CLIX delivers detailed knowledge about truck tyres, conveyance markets, the competitive environment, products, and services of Continental, as well as technical information about trucks and even marketing issues.

Continental AG realised the project together with its long-term service agency ICONnewmedia from Braunschweig (Germany). ICONnewmedia was responsible for the selection process; the implementation at Continental; the design and implementation of the learning processes; the production and integration of learning contents in eight languages; the rollout, as well as the operation and editorial administration of ContiSmartLearning. Following intensive training by IMC, ICONnewmedia was also made responsible for the training of Continental's instructors.

IMC was responsible for the delivery of CLIX and the customisation of the defined learning processes. It also and operates as a "software-as-a-service" partner for Continental's learning platform. Dr. Wolfgang Kraemer, speaker of the board of management at IMC declared, "Continental is another very prestigious customer of IMC's ASP solution for CLIX and another customer from the list of the DAX30 companies.
