Translation Deal Promises to Bring Down Borders
Oslo (NO), June 2007 - Europe's business trainers will be able to deliver local-language eLearning courses to international staff at the touch of a button thanks to a new partnership just sealed between enterprise eLearning software specialists Mohive and translation experts LanguageWire.
The new partnership, which makes LanguageWire's translation resources available straight from the web-based Mohive system, comes as latest estimates suggest growth rates of thirty percent for European-wide eLearning. Content developers using the Mohive eLearning Publishing System will be able to submit an entire course to LanguageWire's translation bureau via a hot button embedded in the system's main menu. Course modules submitted will be translated and seamlessly fed back into the training platform within about 72 hours.
"The concept of reusing and repurposing content has been a constant driver for enterprise-scale eLearning and language translation capability represents the next natural development in this concept," says Lars Unneberg, CEO at Mohive. "Our customers operate in an economic union that is growing and becoming more complex all the time. In this environment, the ability to move knowledge and information across people and borders is fundamental."
Launched in April, course-content developers using Mohive's TranslationLink option will have access to over 3000 language specialists translating material into more than 150 languages.
"The growing need for localized language content spans across all industry sectors," says LanguageWire's Frode Bakke. "Over the next few weeks, we anticipate the new service to gain initial traction in business areas like insurance, banking, and the pharmaceutical industry, where training needs can be complex and fragmented across territories.
But this is the fastest and most cost-efficient way that any training department can offer localised language versions of their course portfolio, and we expect widespread take-up across multiple business areas as companies become familiar with the benefits the new service offers."
Preferential rates have been negotiated for Mohive customers using the service, and all course translation projects are managed by language experts specially trained in the latest eLearning concepts and course-specific content areas.
