Epic combat Age Discrimination at work with eLearning

Brighton (UK), May 2008 - Age discrimination affects the aspiration of both young and old, and prevents organisations from reaping the benefits of an age-diverse workforce. Therefore Epic are supporting the Campaign for Learning's National Work day by making it's Age Awareness eLearning programme available free until June 5th. The programme is an engaging 60-minutes piece of online training.

Following the introduction of the Age Discrimination regulations 2006, it also exposes organisations that discriminate to penalties and fines. Epic's Age Awareness programme reduces the likelihood of these penalties by helping managers recognise their role in preventing age discrimination in the workplace. Additionally, the programme helps all employees be aware of how the regulations affect them.

More specifically the programme covers:

  • Who is affected by age discrimination?
  • The nature of the Age Discrimination regulations 2006
  • How the regulations affects recruitment and selection
  • How the regulations affects promotion and training
  • How the regulations affects dismissals
  • How the regulations affects retirement

The programme concludes with a full assessment. For those that pass there is a completion certificate that can be printed off and used as proof of having completed the course.
