Open Source

Enterprise Moodle Introduced

Baltimore MD/Santa Clara CA (USA), February 2009 - Sun Microsystems and Moodlerooms are launching an open source eLearning platform with useful integration features that is free of licensing costs. Enterprise Moodle is now available as a professional implementation and certified to host up to one million concurrent users.

Moodlerooms is raising the bar of existing open source software to the scalable enterprise level. Besides the integrated open source eLearning platform, users can implement a full eLearning solution with added value:

  1. Custom-tailored features of the eLearning platform and templates for individual needs are offered. The end result will be tuned to the users' currently implemented best practices.
  2. There is an integrated Moodlerooms content-repository system, developed in and for Moodle.
  3. A multi-institution control panel provides a fully automated and individual central control system with customized authority delegation features.
  4. Hosting (on demand) with a certified and scalable technical infrastructure is possible - a complex infrastructure assures 99.97% up-time, fully dedicated system admins, and support staff.
  5. migration from commercial learning platforms is possible.
  6. Commercial support is available 24/7 by Moodlerooms or can be made available in combination with local staff.
  7. Training and certification are available: Moodlerooms is a fully authorized and certified Moodle Partner and an active participant in Moodle's creation and extending process. Ten percent of revenue is forwarded to Moodle for future development of the system.
