ChildCare Education

More than Just Knowledge of the Subject Matter

Duluth, MN (US), September 2012 - ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI), an accredited online childcare training institution, offers new users the opportunity to try distance learning in September by taking the trial course "PROF101: Adult Learning Theories and Strategies" at no cost, in recognition of Self-Improvement Month.

Effective instructors must consider individual needs, learning styles, and adults' communication styles. Teaching strategies can be tailored to meet a particular audience, but only if instructors are aware of the specific and wide-ranging challenges involved in adult education. Upon successful completion, CCEI's Adult Learning course provides professional trainers and adult educators with strategies for meeting the needs and preferences of individual students. Relevant topics in this one-hour online course include Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences and the work of several other prominent adult-learning theorists.

PROF101 is available to new CCEI users as a trial course awarded upon account creation during September. Preexisting account holders without an active, annual training subscription may purchase this course through online enrollment at any time.

"Effective adult education requires more than just knowledge of the subject matter", said Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. "Instructors should be trained in the strategies of adult education, so they know how to best accommodate individual learning and communication styles of the adults they train or manage."
